If your car is a total loss?
If your car is stolen and not recovered, or deemed un-economical to repair, it will be declared a 'Total Loss' and 'Written Off'.
If your car is less than one year old from the time of its original registration or purchase, (which ever is the earliest) then provided the amount of the Loss is more than half the Market value of the car, we will replace your car with a new one the same if it is available in New Zealand.
If you do not want us to replace the car you can choose to be paid the Market Value of the car instead.
Should your vehicle be more than one year old, we will pay you the amount of the loss not exceeding the Market Value of your vehicle (and/or its spare parts and accessories) or the sum insured shown in the schedule, whichever is the less.
